There are a number of reasons that could cause your emails to not reach their destination. If checking the following doesn't work for you, please contact our support department and we will be happy to assist you in troubleshooting the issue.
- Check your domain's registration status to make sure it hasn't expired, along with your account to verify that there isn't a billing conflict for your domain. You can search your domain on whois.com to find your domain's expiration date.
- Are you able to successfully send using Webmail? If so, it is possible you have incorrect server settings within your email client. You can find instructions on how to properly set up your email here: Email Set Up Guides
- Check that your domain is pointing to our MX (mail exchange) records. Every domain using email services must be pointing to their email hosting provider. If you find that your messages are not sending out, it could be possible that you are missing our MX records. You can check if your records are active here: WhatsMyDNS
If you find that the MX records are missing you can follow the instructions here for instructions on how to add them: What are TierraNet's MX records? - Another common issue with sending involves the port bumber that you use for your SMTP settings. in most email client programs, you can find this within the "Advanced Settings" and the default port for sending email is "25". We recommended using "587" instead.
Often times, if an internet service provider detects a large amount of spam being sent through a certain area of their network, they'll suspend services on port 25, which will cause all of their subscribers in the affected area to not be able to send. If you update your SMTP port "587" this you have no problems running into this issue.
