Subdomains are a great way to create and organize separate sections of your website for different functions. They are most commonly used to redirect customers to blogs and allow you to direct traffic to specific sections of your website. You can create a subdomain by following the instructions below:
-
Log into your account and hover your mouse over the DNS icon at the top right of your page and select DNS Home from the drop-down.
-
You will be redirected to the Manage DNS page where you can scroll to the bottom to select the domain to manage, and click Go.
- You'll be redirected to your domain's DNS page, where you can view all the current DNS records associated with your domain. To add a new DNS record, use the drop-down menu at the bottom of the page labeled "Add Records For" to select the type of DNS record you wish to create, then click "Add."
- Proceed to fill in the blanks with the information you want to use to point your domain. Since you're looking to create a subdomain, you can use the Host field to specify the name of the subdomain you want to create.
You can create the subdomain by setting the destination (e.g., "example") or the full address you want to create (e.g., "example.accountexample.com").
Once you've confirmed all the information is correct click Add.
- It's important to remember that DNS updates can take 24-48 hours to propagate. If you find that your records have not propagated within the time frame, please contact customer support.
