Filezilla is a free-to-use FTP program that is used to transfer files from a local computer to a remote computer. These programs are commonly used to upload files from your local computer to a remote server at a hosting provider. The instructions below will help guide you into accessing your site files via FTP. You can download a free version of Filezilla here.
In FileZilla, fill in the provided fields located in the upper left-hand corner of the screen:
Host: ftp.yourdomain.com
If you have trouble connecting using your domain as the host, as an alternative, the IP address for your hosting package will work.
Username: Enter your FTP username.
Password: Enter your case-sensitive FTP password.
Port: You can leave this section blank or use port 21. Filezilla will automatically connect to port 21 if left blank.
Once you've entered your FTP login information click on Quickconnect. A successful connection will result in all your current site files showing up on the screen.
**If you are using an SSL certificate, you will need to confirm the security exception.**
