How do I add a Security Key as two-step authentication?

Security Key -

Authentication is done using Public-Key cryptography. The Security Key device registers the user to our server by registering a Public Key. When authenticating, the device signs a challenge from the server using the Private Key that it holds.

Using a Security Key is better than receiving tokens via a TOTP App or pins via text message because these can be phished or intercepted. Additionally, because the credential is tied to a specific website using HTTPS, if you accidentally end up on a phishing site, your device will detect that the domain is different, and any data provided will not be valid.

• Upon clicking the Add Security Key button, your browser will prompt you to perform your device's authentication action, which may require pressing a button or touching a scanner.

• Before we enable your Security Key, we will first require you to verify that the device and your browser are functioning properly. Press the Verify Security Key button, and then perform your device's authentication action again.

• Once the authentication verification has been completed, you will be prompted to enter a nickname to more easily reference the device. Enter your desired nickname and click save.
  
  
  

• The Account Security page will reload and you should now see your device. Note: you may repeat this process to configure additional Security Keys.
