Creating an FTP account can enable your developer to work on your site files without having to access your TierraNet control panel. FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a standard internet protocol commonly used to upload files from your local computer to a remote server at a hosting provider.
You can create an FTP account by following the guide below:
- Log into your TierraNet control panel
- Click on the Hosting tab to go to the Hosting Services Page
- On the right-hand side of your page select FTP Account Management
- Select on Add a New FTP Account
- Under Add a new FTP account enter the username, password, and directory to which you would like this account to have access.
**Note: If you only want this FTP account to be able to see/download the files in a certain directory, select the Read Only option, and if you have not yet created the directory you wish to access select Create directory if it does not already exist.**
You can also select the time period you would like the FTP account active if you wish to give your developer access to your site files for a limited amount of time.
Once finished click ADD on the bottom right corner of your page.
- Congratulations! You've successfully created an FTP account.
